Sodium saccharine is an artificial sweetener used in the manufacturing of various good and pharmaceutical products.
It is 200 to 700 times sweeter than sucrose. Like any typical non-nutritive sweetener, it has no calories. It however has a bitter/metallic aftertaste.
Sodium Saccharine also unstable when heated, making its applications limited. It can be blended with other artificial sweeteners to mask the unpleasant aftertaste. Blends of Sodium Saccharine and Aspartame are often used to sweeten diet soft drinks.
