Xylitol is a natural sugar- free sweetner. It looks and tastes like sugar but has 40 percent fewer calories and doesn't spike blood sugar levels, making it an excellent sugar substitute.

It occurs naturally in many fruits and vegetables. 

Benefits include: 

  1. It has a low Glycemic Index so it doesn't cause a spike in insulin levels and none of the harmful aspects of sugar apply to xylitol.
